The term ‘quest’ is now familiar to homestay owners

In the beginning of May Vidomlya rural settlement hosted an unusual training . The participants got acquainted with an innovative and quiet popular tourist product – questing. Quests are a sort of educational and informative getting one's bearings. After theoretical introduction training participants implemented their knowledge on practical experience: while walking around Vidomlya they defined the key points for a quest, tips and hints, directions. One can say that at the end of the day Vidomlya dwellers already had the first version of quest. more info

The first agro and ecotourism business-incubator in Belarus has opened!

The official opening of the first agro- and ecotourism business-incubator in Belarus – Centre of agro- and ecotourism development in Belarus took place on the 7th of December. This initiative was implemented with the support from OSCE office in Minsk in terms of the project “Agro and ecotourism business incubator as a tool of sustainable development in rural areas of Belarus”. Among the participants of the opening was Ambassador of the OSCE in Belarus Benedict Haller, Israeli Ambassador in Belarus Edward Shapira, Economic Adviser of Minister of tourism Michael Dulman, Head of Tourism Department of the Ministry of sports and tourism of Belarus Vadim Karmazin, Head of ECEAT Germany Matthias Baerens, representatives of local authorities, NGOs, farmstead owners, partners and mass media.
This Centre is an innovative model of provision of consultations, training and other services in this sphere. It will work in two formats – traditional and virtual, and provide its clients with such services – consulting, training, inspecting of farmsteads, monitoring, and assistance in preparation of printing materials. It is planned to create a booking centre, to publish various materials and act as intermediary in perspective. Centre has its own web-site
In the end solemn ceremony of presentation with ECEAT certificates took place. Farmsteads “Gulenkovo”, “V prilesye”, “Panski kutok”, “Viazynka” and “Iv Le” got ECEAT certificates.
