The term ‘quest’ is now familiar to homestay owners

In the beginning of May Vidomlya rural settlement hosted an unusual training . The participants got acquainted with an innovative and quiet popular tourist product – questing. Quests are a sort of educational and informative getting one's bearings. After theoretical introduction training participants implemented their knowledge on practical experience: while walking around Vidomlya they defined the key points for a quest, tips and hints, directions. One can say that at the end of the day Vidomlya dwellers already had the first version of quest. more info

AGORA 2.0 project is in the homestretch!

This year Belarusian Association “Country Escape” is finalizing AGORA 2.0 project “Heritage tourism for increased BSR identity”, supported by the Baltic Sea Region Program 2007-2013. The project lasted two years, a lot has been done. First of all the project justified its name – ‘agora’ (from Greek – ‘the marketplace in Athens, used for popular meetings, or any similar place of assembly in ancient Greece’) – as it became an arena for communications and experience exchange for all partners. Belarus was presented on European scene in a new way. Thanks to the project our attractions appeared in BASTIS (Baltic Sea Region Heritage Tourism Information Service ( Project partners arranged a contest “6 Baltic Sea Wonders” (, which was aimed at attracting particular attention towards Baltic Sea Region. Online and expert jointly pointed out the most popular attractions within the region, among them Gdansk - Town of Memory and Freedom (Poland), Tallinn Old Town (Estonia), Vilnius Old Town (Lithuania), Rügen & Møn White Cliffs (Germany/Denmark), Curonian Lagoon & Spit (Russia/Lithuania), Masurian Lake District (Poland). Together with Latvian colleagues we prepared two publications  - ‘Belarusian Natural Heritage and its involvement in agro and ecotourism’ and ‘Forest guide’. The project AGORA 2.0 has come to an end. We can say for sure: it was a success and brought a lot of use to all partners. We believe more international project are waiting for us in the coming year.
