The term ‘quest’ is now familiar to homestay owners

In the beginning of May Vidomlya rural settlement hosted an unusual training . The participants got acquainted with an innovative and quiet popular tourist product – questing. Quests are a sort of educational and informative getting one's bearings. After theoretical introduction training participants implemented their knowledge on practical experience: while walking around Vidomlya they defined the key points for a quest, tips and hints, directions. One can say that at the end of the day Vidomlya dwellers already had the first version of quest. more info

Belarus is on the way towards tourism clusters

Our organization together with Greifswald University (Germany) started implementing the project ‘Establishing Rural Tourism Clusters in Belarus: Innovation, Integration and Institutionalization as a basis for sustainable rural development’. First events within the project took place on the 1st -2nd of March 2013. It was a kick off meeting and training dedicated to tourism cluster development. For the training we invited German expert Thorsten Kirschner who is the head of Carpathian Tourism Cluster (Romania). Mr.Kirschner described interesting initiatives and innovative projects implemented within their cluster. The training attracted representative of initiative groups for tourism cluster development from Ivanovo, Smorgon, Volejka, Volozhin and Kamenets regions as well as representatives of Public Councils for agroecotourism development from Mogilev, Brest, Minsk and Grodno oblast, representatives of local authorities and local NGOs. We hope that by the end of the year our organization together with the Institute of Economy of the Academy of science will develop recommendations for tourism cluster development.
